Apple iPhone 6 unveiling one month away…
Thu, 7th Aug 2014
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Apple will hold an iPhone event on September 9, with the tech giant expected to unveil the eagerly-anticipated iPhone 6.

According to recode.net, who were the first to break the news, Cupertino will provide the world with its first look of the flagship smartphone in just over a month, with a release date expected to follow soon after.

Judging by past Apple releases, the iPhone 6 could hit shelves as early as Friday, September 19 - although the company has to return any requests for comment.

According to recode.net, Apple SVP Eddy Cue recently described the company's product pipeline as “the best he'd seen in his 25 years at Apple.

For those keen on connecting the iPhone 6 dots, many believe Apple's ninth iPhone model will come in two different sizes - 4.7-inches and 5.5-inches.

Powered by the new operating system iOS 8, which was unveiled in June, the Wall Street Journal recently claimed suppliers are preparing to produce up to 80 million of the new devices by the end of December.

Set the world on fire…?

As reported on MacGuide last week, Gartner analyst Van Baker believes the iPhone 6 will dominate the market, so much so that the flagship smartphone will “set the world on fire.

“As well as they did with the iPhone this quarter, with all the rumours of a new iPhone [this fall], I was impressed with the results,” Baker told Computer World.

“That tells me when the next generation comes out, they're going to set the world on fire.
