InternetNZ to host second NetHui
Thu, 8th Dec 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Internet users and IT industry representatives will have another chance to get together next year, with advocacy group InternetNZ announcing it will host a second NetHui conference.

Vikram Kumar, CEO of InternetNZ, says NetHui provides an opportunity for people with different perspectives to come together as equal and valued participants.

"The first NetHui attracted 500 participants,” Kumar says, "demonstrating the need for people to get together, talk about the benefits and how to realise them, and deal with key internet-related issues in our society and economy.

The three-day event has been timed to fit in with school holidays and parliamentary recess, so that youths, educators and parliamentarians can all attend.

Registration costs $34.78 plus GST for all three days, meaning people on lower incomes will still be able to attend.

"InternetNZ is proud to facilitate a conference that is like the internet itself – where everyone is an equal and valued participant.

NetHui 2012 will take place from July 11 to 13 in Auckland, with registrations due to open in February. In the meantime, the NetHui 2011 website is still live, and contains full videos from the conference. Check it out here.
