LulzSec strikes The Sun
Tue, 19th Jul 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Weeks after claiming it was ending its hacking campaign, LulzSec has struck out at struggling media company News Corp, hacking into the website of one of its best-known publications, The Sun.

The hack initially caused the website to run a fake story about News Corp boss Rupert Murdoch being found dead in his garden.

After this was quickly removed, LulzSec struck again, redirecting the website to the group's own Twitter account.

In one Twitter post, the group states, "I know we quit, but we couldn't sit by with our wine watching this walnut-faced Murdoch clowning around.

The security breach comes as News Corp struggles to disentangle itself from a phone-hacking scandal relating to another of its publications, News Of The World.
