Spark wins big, pulls trifecta at NetGuide Web Awards
Wed, 3rd Dec 2014
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Spark scooped up three awards at last night's NetGuide Awards, Best Internet Service Provider, Best Mobile Network and Best Online Fundraising Initiative for its crowd-funding platform, Givealittle.

Hosted by Urzila Carlson at Auckland's Hilton Hotel, the NetGuide Web Awards are decided by readers of NetGuide and New Zealand websites. The awards enable anyone to vote for their favourite company, website, or application.

Spark took home awards in all three of its nominated categories.

General Manager of Spark Corporate Relations, Andrew Pirie says the NetGuide awards reflected the efforts Spark was making to help its customers take advantage of the digital revolution.

“We're rapt to have won Best ISP for the first time in many years, and to pick up Best Mobile Network and Best Online Fundraising Initiative on top was just fantastic,” he says.

“It shows that the hard work Spark's been doing over the last few years to turn the business around and focus more on customers is working.

“Above all, we want to say a huge thanks to all the people who voted for us in all three categories – we're incredibly humbled by such strong support from our customers.

General Manager of the Spark Foundation, Lynne Le Gros said last night's win demonstrates how Givealittle continues to provide a leading platform for New Zealanders to connect with the causes they are passionate about.

“We are over the moon to have won the NetGuide Best Online Fundraising Initiative award for the second year in a row,” Le Gros says. “Clearly New Zealanders are loving Givealittle more than ever and we love providing a zero fees fundraising website that makes it easy for kiwis to create and connect to causes that matter to them. “
