Telecom's Olympic Galaxy S III incentive
Fri, 13th Jul 2012
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Competition for Samsung Galaxy S III buyers among the major mobile providers has heated up, with Telecom offering a $40,000 Olympic travel prize to consumers purchasing the handsets in the next two weeks.

The offer comes as Vodafone's huge $270,000 space travel prize promotion draws to a close, and will ensure continued interest in the handset, which was released at the end of May.

Jason Paris, chief marketing officer for Telecom, says the package includes return business-class flights for two, six nights of four-star accommodation in London, tickets to track cycling, athletics and other events, and even another Galaxy S III for the winner's companion.

"We're rapt to offer two kiwi sports fans this dream package,” Paris says.

Anyone who purchases a Galaxy S III from Telecom before 6pm on July 25 will go into the draw. Winners have to be available for travel between July 31 and August 10.

The promotion ties in with Samsung's own Olympic drive; for the last six months the company has had a specially fitted truck travelling the country, using Samsung products to drum up support for our athletes.
