FYI, this story is more than a year old

You would not believe how long it took me to write this article. Let’s just say I got a bit distracted.

Forget Facebook. Forget Buzzfeed (well not really because Buzzfeed is amaze). I have the best sites for you to waste away the hours when you’re supposed to be working or hitting deadlines.

1. GeoGuessr:

GeoGuessr is a geography game that takes you on a journey around the world and challenges your ability to recognise your surroundings using Google maps.

Sounds like nothing special right? I have been doing this all week. I think about it on my way into work. I want to play it all the time.

2. Upworthy:

Described as social media with a mission. Awesome, fun, interesting videos and graphics about stuff that matters. Here’s a little quote from their website describing what’s important to them, and what their content is about: we do have a point of view. We're pro-gay-marriage, and we're anti-child-poverty.

We think the media is horrible to women, we think climate change is real, and we think the government has a lot to learn from the Internet about efficiency, disruption, and effectiveness.

3.  F*** My Life:

This is a hilarious site that allows you to laugh at other’s misfortunes. It’s a simple concept: people post a couple lines about something crap that has happened to them, followed with “fml”. Scroll through pages and pages of awful yet funny things that happen to people just like you. Like the one with the guy who saw his wife with whom she said was her brother, only to see them going at it. Yeah.

4. People of Walmart:

Forget the email chains that people send around at work. Go straight to the source. People of Walmart is it. A photo collection of people that grace us with their presence at Walmart in all their disgusting glory.

5. FAIL Blog:

Like FML, FAIL Blog is dedicated to showing and laughing at crappy things that happen to people. Cringe as much as you like, but when people hurt themselves (to a point, of course) or something stupid they say is caught on camera, it’s funny. And FAIL Blog brings you all these things for your nasty pleasure. Videos, photos, gifs… everything.
