Activision has released the first bundle of Downloadable Content (DLC) for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, in the first of nine monthly content drops.

Starting today, premium members of Call of Duty Elite will be able to access two new multiplayer maps: Liberation, set in a militarised Central Park in the heart of New York City; and Piazza, set in an idyllic seaside village in Italy.

Activision says Liberation offers ‘a vast landscape ripe for long-range sniper and LMG kills’, while Piazza’s blind corners and twisting pathways provide ‘visceral close-quarters combat’.

The maps will be available for purchase for CoD players on Xbox Live in March, and on other platforms at a later date.
