Hands-on review: Corsair M65 Pro RGB Gaming Mouse
Mon, 18th Apr 2016
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Whether you're flying along in space or taking down the enemy, Corsair's M65 Pro gaming mouse and its 12000 DPI optical sensor will help you keep your thumb on the trigger at all times.  It feels solid in the hand, mostly matt-black and looking like a dark ship straight out of Star Wars. It glides smoothly and is comfortable enough for large and small hands.

The conservative number of buttons gives the M65 lots of breathing room. The mouse is large and comfortable for both palm and claw grips. The textured pads on either side provide comfortable resting spots for the thumb and the two outermost fingers, and the mouse's considerable girth allows the whole palm to lay or arch across it.

The mouse comes in two different colour combinations to match your gaming rig. Along with the left, middle and right mouse buttons, there are 5 additional buttons to the left and centre of the mouse. The most useful one is the red trigger or sniper button, situated perfectly underneath your thumb. Press it and your DPI is instantly lowered to allow your aim to be more accurate, release it and you are back to your normal DPI level.

Above this button are two extra buttons, by default listed as forward and backwards buttons for gaming and web browsing. Below the scroll wheel button are two more buttons, these ones default to increasing and decreasing in-game DPI. While the defaults are fine, you will want to download the CUE Engine to customise all buttons for shortcuts, macros and mouse lighting.

I can't find any cons about this mouse. The mouse is comfortable, responsive, and lag-free, with a proven design. Corsair's M65 Pro RGB would make an excellent addition to your gaming rig. While it's not quite as sophisticated as some of Corsair's other mouse offerings, it's a comfortable, quality product. It will serve you well in your gaming experience, helping you battle even the mightiest of foes.
