HTC releases RE camera in New Zealand
Tue, 16th Dec 2014
FYI, this story is more than a year old

HTC's new RE camera is now available in New Zealand. The camera is compatible with Android and iOS devices, compact and waterproof up to one metre.

Designed for one-handed use, it has an auto-on grip sensor - meaning it will be instantly activated when it's picked up. Photos are taken with a single tap on the shutter button, and with a longer press users can record video. The camera is also capable of slow motion and time lapse recording.

The RE has a high-resolution 16MP camera and 1080pHD video with 146-degree wide angle lens. With a 820mAh rechargable battery it can take 1,200 photos and 1 hour 40 minutes of continuous video recording on one charge.

With WiFi capabilities, users can sync and save photos and videos to their smartphone.

Users can connect on social media as the RE camera can work with the HTC Zoe app. With the app, photographers can create video highlight reels and share with friends.

HTC says due to the compact, waterproof design, and ease of use the camera suits travellers and holidaymakers.

Ben Hodgson, HTC Australia and New Zealand, country manager, says, “We are very excited to introduce RE into the emerging devices market to revolutionise the way people capture, edit, share and enjoy their photos and videos.

Hodgson says the RE will be available from JB HiFi stores, with a RRP of $329, and additional retailers will be announced early next year.
