FYI, this story is more than a year old

HTC today announced the New Zealand launch of its new smartphone, the HTC One M9.

The latest generation of the HTC One family, the HTC One M9, will be available from all New Zealand carriers and major phone retailers from April 7, 2015 on Spark New Zealand, 2 Degrees and Vodafone.

The new HTC Sense 7 experience allows users to personalise their smartphone with highly customisable HTC Themes. These themes analyse a user's favourite photos to modify the look and feel of apps, colour scheme and backgrounds.

The new phone also features higher camera quality with a 20MP main camera, 4K video capture and professional editing tools. Dynamic auto exposure and UltraPixels are said to capture 300% more light than standard cameras.

The device also boasts HTC BoomSound and dual front-facing speakers with Dolby Audio surround sound simulation.

Recognising smartphones are becoming a central hub for home entertainment, HTC Connect enables users to connect their phone to compatible TVs or external speakers.

HTC One M9 offers flexibility to support up to 260GB storage today and enabled for higher capacity micro SD cards up to 2TB in the future.

Ben Hodgson, HTC country manager Australia and New Zealand, says HTC customers have been clear they want the freedom that comes with expandable storage.

The HTC One M9 has a jewellery grade finish and a single piece all-metal uni-body design in dual-tone silver and rose gold.

Hodgson says, "HTC pioneered all-metal uni-body design on smartphones.  We have meticulously refined over many years, every aspect to deliver the pure luxury you see on the HTC One M9.
