iTunes 11 release imminent?
Thu, 22nd Nov 2012
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Apple is rumoured to be releasing the newly updated iTunes 11 within the next few days.

Online speculation has increased that the new music software will be available in the near future after the tech giant initially delayed the launch in October.

German music distribution service Feiyr.com claims to have received an email confirming the release, saying:

"Starting with iTunes 11, which is about to be released within the next days, users have the possibility to view pictures and galleries to every artist in iTunes.

"You can submit the pictures and galleries of your artists directly with Feiyr.

"All you need is the link to your artist in iTunes and images with 1200 pixels or more."

While this remains the only clue as to when Apple will announce the release, the company revealed on November 1 that it delayed the launch of iTunes 11, despite previously advertising an October date.

Telling All Things D, Apple said the next version of the music player will be available before the end of November instead.

“The new iTunes is taking longer than expected and we wanted to take a little extra time to get it right,” Apple said at the time.

“We look forward to releasing this new version of iTunes with its dramatically simpler and cleaner interface, and seamless integration with iCloud before the end of November.”

The new software is set to include a variety of welcome features including an improved mini-player, instant recommendations and preview history.
