Netflix has announced the internet movie and TV subscription service will be available in New Zealand and Australia in March 2015.

Anyone within the region with an internet connection will be able to subscribe to Netflix and select from the curated selection of movies and TV shows.

Netflix can be used with smart TVs, tablets, smartphones, computers, internet-capable game consoles and set-top boxes.

These shows and films will be available in high-definition and 4K where available.

The curated range includes many genres, old and new content, as well as Netflix original series. It is unclear whether the New Zealand and Australian selection will include everything available to those in the United States.

Also available is an expanded ANZ selection, including anticipated original series launching in 2015.

New Zealand and Australian consumers will have the option to have a free one month trial before signing up.

Prices, programming and supported devices details are yet to be announced. In the US, customers are charged around $10 a month for the service.

This announcement brings the total number of countries and territories with access to Netflix to 50.
