Panasonic New Zealand has launched the Smart Viera Trade Me television screen App, heralding a new dawn for the online shopping culture according to industry pundits.

Instead of missing your next auction or the sale of your latest listing, Panasonic says the new app will automatically pop up on your screen while you are watching TV.

Trade Me users can browse, buy now, bid and track all their Trade Me items exclusively on Panasonic Smart Viera televisions, with real time notifications appearing during programs.

“The idea for this App came from our team right here in New Zealand," says Stewart Fowler, Panasonic NZ MD.

"The Smart Viera television series has been very successful with the New Zealand consumer.

"We wanted a way we could give our loyal customers a New Zealand App, and the opportunity to partner with Trade Me was ideal.”

The free Smart Viera Trade Me app is available today from the Panasonic Smart Viera connect market.
