Fri, 5th Dec 2014
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Sony Computer Entertainment New Zealand is proud to announce today that the PS4 is the fastest selling video game console in New Zealand over the last 10 years.

Over the past 10 years, we've seen the release of the PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii and Wii U home consoles. This means the PS4 has sold at a faster rate than all of them which is impressive to grasp.

According to NDP reports, the PS4 has also been the best selling next-gen console in New Zealand since its release back in November 2013. It has remained on top for exactly a year now.

"As PlayStation powers into its twentieth year in New Zealand, we couldn’t be happier with our position with PS4 at the top spot of the interactive entertainment industry,” said Michael Ephraim, Managing Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Australia and New Zealand. “I’ve watched this business grow over the 20 years and have had the pleasure of being part of the monumental change in innovation and category growth. Demonstrating that New Zealand truly is a PlayStation nation, PlayStation 4 is now the fastest selling home console of the decade, and reflects the passion of our players, our partners and the quality of the PlayStation offer."

The PS4 remains to be the console of choice for New Zealand gamers and they have a lot of games to choose from this Holiday. Games like LittleBigPlanet 3, Driveclub, and Grand Theft Auto V lead the way. 2015 promises to be even bigger with PS4 exclusives Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Bloodborne, The Order: 1886 and more coming out.
