Tweeting Dotcom causes rape storm
Tue, 4th Sep 2012
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Kim Dotcom is at the centre of a rape storm after tweeting two jokes in the space of a week.

The Megaupload founder apologised for a tweet earlier in the week where he pretended to be a "fly on the wall" at a meeting between Kiwi prime minister John Key and US secretary of state Hilary Clinton.

Dotcom tweeted: "Fly on the Wall. John to Hillary: "I am so sorry Madam President aehm Secretary. Please give me another chance. Should we allege some rape?""

The tweet was later removed but after media criticism over his sense of humour, Dotcom defended his actions this morning, tweeting:

"The world is full of critics. They make no mistakes cause they attempt nothing. I create, I fight, I tweet, I joke, I make mistakes. Got me!"

Dotcom followed the tweet with a link to a rape joke story, saying:

"WARNING: Do not read beyond this point unless you have a sense of humor! Here are 15 rape jokes that work."

In his third apology in as many days, Dotcom's last tweet said:

"I do apologize if I offended anyone. Kate Harding is a feminist who got raped and SHE thought those jokes were funny. I used her headline."
