Thu, 24th May 2012
FYI, this story is more than a year old

From Dust, the highly addictive ‘God' game where players must manipulate the environment to protect a primitive tribe from the forces of nature, is to be released on the Google Chrome Web Store next month, publishers Ubisoft have announced.

The browser version will be the fourth platform for the game, after originally being released on Xbox Live Arcade, later making its way to PCs via Steam and others, and eventually hitting the PlayStation Network.

The game hearkens back to groundbreaking Peter Molyneux games like Populous and Black and White.

There's no word yet on what the Chrome version will cost, or whether the game will come to other browsers as well.

Let us know what you think – could browser-based games finally be growing up?

Update: Ubisoft has finally released its version of ‘God' game From Dust enabled for Google's Chrome browser.

The game will be available for $9.95 for the next week, and for $14.95 after that.
