These guessing games are really popular right now, but my favourite so far has to be the Guess the Movie app.

Using minimalist artwork of teeny weeny little people, your job is to guess the movie based on the character provided, within a range of topics.

The first round I did was Oscars, having to guess 16 Oscar Best Picture winners from all the decades. Some area really obvious, while others were actually really hard and I had to use the hints.

There are two different kinds of free hints that you get. The first is the plot outline and makes for pretty easy guessing if you’ve seen the movie.

If not, you can use the other hint which provides you with several letters of the movie title. Make sure you take it easy on the hints though.

I thought the hints were unlimited but I quickly ran out, and now I’m stuck and have to do some brainstorming! I’m looking forward to the genres of movies that will come up in the levels.

Unlike 4 Pics 1 Word, I find Guess the Movie quite challenging, which is more fun. And, if course, it’s free!

But you can upgrade to the full version for only $1.18 (which I think I might do), and this has a ‘resolve’ feature in case there’s just no chance of you guessing the movie title.
