On the official PlayStation blog, Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that Gran Turismo 5 "will not be available on the previously announced release date of November 3rd [November 4th in New Zealand]".

Sony apologises for the delay, claiming that creator Kazunori Yamauchi and his team at Polyphony Digital "want to make certain they are creating a racing experience of the highest quality". While no alternative release date has been provided, the blog insists that the game will still release before Christmas.

Not only is this another of multiple delays for Gran Turismo 5 itself, but it's also the latest in a string of delays to Sony's pre-Christmas line-up. LittleBigPlanet 2, DC Universe Online and S.O.C.O.M. 4 have all slipped from their intended holiday-season release dates into 2011.
