Apple sues Samsung for ripping off iPhone, iPad

Apple is suing Samsung claiming that the South Korean electronics manufacturer copied the look and feel of iPhone and iPad.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the lawsuit was filed on April 15th in California.

It alleges that Samsung's devices (Galaxy S 4G, Epic 4G, Nexus S and the Galaxy Tab) all violate Apple's intellectual property.

Apple’s lawsuit reads, "Rather than innovate and develop its own technology and a unique Samsung style for its smart phone products and computer tablets, Samsung chose to copy Apple's technology, user interface and innovative style in these infringing products.”

The lawsuit won’t do anything for relations between the two giants, as Samsung makes chips for some Apple products.

"This kind of blatant copying is wrong," Apple’s Kristin Huguet told Reuters while Samsung said it would protect its intellectual property and "actively" respond to the lawsuit.
