Apple's WWDC takes centre stage
Thu, 6th Jun 2013
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Apple has started preparations for its annual developer's conference next week, with the company already installing banners at the San Francisco centre.

Set to begin on June 10, the tech giant has already started decorating the Moscone West convention centre, with colourful banners and giant Apple signs.

Reading "Where a while new world is developing", the banner takes centre stage at the event, along with two giant white Apple logos on either side of the building.

With CEO Tim Cook claiming the company is set to "surprise us all" with "game changing" releases, interest in the conference has escalated even more than usual.

But as the media tries to second guess Apple's agenda for the conference, this is the official line coming out of Cupertino:

"Get an in-depth look at what's next in iOS and OS X, and learn how to take your apps to the next level," Apple says.

"With over 100 sessions, extensive hands–on labs, and engaging events, you'll connect with Apple engineers and fellow developers for an incredible week of inspiration."

Pretty standard stuff really.

After defiantly claiming Apple has "absolutely not" lost its cool, Cook's admission that the company believes "very much in the element of surprise" suggests that customers are in for a treat next week.

Of the rumoured releases, most parts of the media believe an iRadio launch, an iOS 7 design and a new MacBook Pro will take centre stage, among many other products and software.

With work still yet to be finished, let us all hope Apple's extravagant interior design skills match a batch of new product releases for consumers.

That said, BGR reports that according to RBC Capital Markets analyst Amit Daryanani, investors' expectations are “appropriately tempered” and the big product news from Apple isn't expected until September.
