Auckland company on the ball with iPhone apps

The iRugby Pro 2009 app took the number one spot in the New Zealand Apple iTunes store for paid sports app last week, and was also the number one app spot in its category in South Africa earlier this week. The app helps users keep track of their favourite rugby teams and tournaments.

Conduit started developing apps for the Apple iPhone at the start of 2009 though its core business is the development of hosting transactional, business-to-business websites. General Manager Paul Dyson said that “developing iPhone apps was a natural progression for Conduit”.

Conduit plans to use its experience developing apps as a launching point for developing a transactional business-to-business iPhone application for one of its commercial clients.

The iRugby Pro app includes fixtures, results and standings for Air New Zealand Cup, Internationals, Tri Nations and Six Nations, and updates results as soon as official scores are released. Conduit has developed other sports apps for iPhone, including: Spanish Soccer, Argentine Soccer and iNRL 2009.
