Chief Innovation Officer John Ascroft said the event came about after Jade Software was “inundated with requests” for development of iPhone and iPad applications. It was also encouraged by the iOS developer community to organise a conference to share creative ideas, experiences and opportunities.
“The smartphone market is growing exponentially with analysts predicting they will outnumber feature phones in many markets within two years. These devices are transforming the customer experience, redesigning business processes and creating new software opportunities for New Zealand developers on the global stage,” said Ascroft.
Ascroft added that Jade Software will release a JOOB mobile enterprise application platform in January 2011.
“Our high performance solution framework, JOOB, was designed to solve hard problems in very demanding markets,” he said. “Using the JOOB framework, we have developed a mobile enterprise application platform which substantially reduces smartphone developer effort and dramatically increases speed-to-market for enterprise customers.”
The December 4th NZiDev conference will be facilitated by New Zealand computer developer and author Nathan Torkington.
