Closed doors for Yoobee in New Plymouth

Yoobee (formerly Magnum Mac) closed up shop at its New Plymouth store recently, as a result of location-based re-evaluation according to CEO Richard Webb.

Webb said the company is looking at three possible new locations around the country, "with an emphasis on larger stores in larger population areas".

When asked to respond to rumours of redundancies in Christchurch, which was forced to relocate after the earthquake, Webb said some staff have chosen to leave the city "and we are doing what we can to support and accommodate them."

Yoobee has recently appointed a new general manager of retail, Mark Singleton, who brings more than 10 years of senior executive experience at Max Fashions, Rodd & Gunn and the Body Shop.

"With him at the helm, we are looking forward to taking the retail business to new heights," said Webb.
