Competitive console gamers tournament happening in Auckland next year

A big LAN event will be held in Auckland early next year so console gamers have a chance to test their skills out against the country's best players. The event is called "Adveristy Gaming" and there will be a total prize pool of over $10,000. The organisers anticipate that over 300 people will attend which will be happening from January 30th until January 31st. The event is being held at the Ellerslie Event Centre and the games that will be included in tournaments include the likes of Halo 5, Call of Duty Black Ops 3 and Super Smash Bros. Wii U.

Adversity Gaming's director Sami Shanley has more than six years experience running gaming events and says AvT Auckland LAN 2016 is expected to the largest one she has arranged.

“This year we have expanded our tournament offering to include FIFA and have brought on board Standing Fierce to host four additional fighting game titles. Coupled with the success of Halo 5 and Black Ops 3, this event is set to be one of our best”. Here are some official details about the event:

- Both Halo 5 and Call of Duty 3: Black Ops 3 (PS4) will be played between teams of four, with an estimated prize pool of $4,000 each.

- FIFA '16 and fighting games Super Street Fighter 4: Ultra, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Super Smash Bros Melee and Super Smash Bros WiiU will be fought one-on-one.

-FIFA, which will be played on the Xbox One, with its estimated prize pool of $1750 while the fighting games will see players scrap over $800.
