Dead Space 2 may still release for PC

Gamer backlash may have forced EA to rethink its decision not to go ahead with a PC version of its upcoming survival horror Dead Space 2.

Many gaming news outlets have recently reported that the publisher will neglect PC gamers when it comes to the sequel to its critically acclaimed Dead Space. However, a recent press statement from EA contends that the decision is by no means final.

“Visceral Studios is dedicated to delivering an outstanding Dead Space sequel for the Xbox 360 and PS3. A PC SKU is under consideration. Nothing additional at this time," said an EA spokesperson in the statement.

While Dead Space is a critically revered title, it didn’t necessarily translate commercially. Reportedly some 40,000 copies were shifted on PC (not counting digital distribution), which is most likely behind the omission of a PC version from EA's fiscal quarter-four 2011 title listings.
