E3 2016: Sony announces new Spider-Man, God of War games and PSVR release date
Tue, 14th Jun 2016
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Sony's E3 2016 press conference has finished for another year and a lot of new things were revealed.  Sony started E3 2016 in a big way by announcing that a new God of War game is in development for the PS4. Sony Santa Monica is again the developer and it looks very impressive. Kratos is in the game and he's joined by his son. The game is kind of a reboot/sequel so it plays differently to the older games.  The other big new game is being developed by Bend Studio. This game is called Days Gone and is set during a zombie apocalypse. The game looks similar to The Last of Us as the environments still look pretty even though you have to battle zombies.  Speaking of zombies, Resident Evil 7 was revealed to be out in January 2017. The game looks like it will go back to the franchise's horror roots. Not to mention the game will be playable using the PlayStation VR device.  An exact release date for the PlayStation VR headset was announced. You can expect to play it on October 13th, 2016. Tons of games will be available for it such as Batman: Arkham VR, Final Fantasy 15 and more.   My favourite announcement of the night was that a new Spider-Man game is being made by Insomniac Games. Insomniac Games is working with Marvel on the project and it is a PS4 exclusive. It could be the best looking Spider-Man game of all time.  One announcement that kind of disappointed me is that Crash Bandicoot returns to the PS4, but only as a remaster of the original trilogy. They are not making a new game starring my favourite character of the PSOne era. The character is however playable in the new Skylanders game out later this year. Lastly, one of the biggest PS4 games of 2016 now has a release date. You can expect to see The Last Guardian finally coming out on October 25th, 2016. The Holiday season for PS4 gamers will be a busy time as Gran Turismo Sport comes out a few weeks later in November.  Sony's E3 2016 press conference was solid, but wasn't the best of all time like last year. Sadly, no updates were given to Final Fantasy 7 Remake or Shenmue 3. Not to mention no new consoles were announced today either.
