E3 IN LOS ANGELES - WHAT TO EXPECT
Tue, 1st Jun 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

This month the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) will take place in Los Angeles, specifically from June 15th to June 17th. E3 is the largest gaming showcase in the world, where major game publishers, developers and manufacturers often announce their upcoming projects to the world for the first time. Most publishers typically save their big reveals for this event; Microsoft and Sony both announced their respective upcoming motion-control technologies at last year’s event, not to mention such title announcements as Halo: Reach, Left 4 Dead 2, Metroid: Other M, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. It’s not all just about game and hardware announcements, though; sometimes E3 is the destination where the first playable builds of games that we’ve known have been in development for some time are revealed to the world. For instance, the first playable build of God of War III wowed the gaming press at E3 2009If previous E3s are anything to go by, this year’s event is bound to offer a few surprise announcements. On top of that, we know that Microsoft has promised a much more comprehensive demonstration of its upcoming controller-free motion technology, Natal. And you can bet that Sony’s Move technology will be there in force too.Unfortunately Game Console will not be in attendance this year, although we will cover any related news in-depth as it happens at www.gameconsole.co.nz!
