FYI, this story is more than a year old

F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) is an intense combat experience, featuring rich atmospheric graphics and an engaging story presented entirely in first person. The game claims that now you can “Be the hero in your own blockbuster action movie” - albeit a very scary one. The story begins as an unidentified paramilitary force infiltrates a multi-billion dollar aerospace compound, taking hostages but issuing no demands.

The government responds by sending in special forces, but loses contact as an eerie signal interrupts radio communications. When the interference subsides moments later, the team has been obliterated. Live footage of the massacre shows an inexplicable wave of destruction tearing the soldiers apart before they can even react. As part of a classified strike team created to deal with threats no one else can handle, your mission is simple:

Eliminate the intruders at any cost. Determine the origin of the signal. And contain this crisis before it spirals out of control. Voted to be the best new first-person shooter since Half-Life 2 - F.E.A.R certainly is a sight to behold and looks to be the best PC game of 2005.
