Packing a variety of new features and a focus on easier database creation and ways to increase productivity, FileMaker 11 is now available.
The entire range of FileMaker product line will include the new features, including FileMaker Pro 11 Advanced, FileMaker Server 11 and FileMaker Server 11 Advanced.
Regional Manager for FileMaker Asia Pacific, Steve McManus, said “FileMaker Pro 11 is designed for solving real-world business problems, such as the need for interpreting business data.”
This release of FileMaker includes a range of professional-quality charts, which can be used in a variety of ways, including the ability to publish the charts to the Web. The release also includes features intended to increase productivity including: a new Quick Find tool, Object Badges to visually identify scripted fields, a new Invoices Starter Solution to track product and customer details and print customised invoices, and an improved Quick Start Screen to help users create new databases, manage files and find help resources.
FileMaker 11 also includes customisation for experienced database developers with script creation and editing enhancements. FileMaker Pro 11 Advanced offers all of the standard features, but also includes suite of advanced development and customisation tools and provides a streamlined interface for creating customised menus in addition to an improved Script Debugger.
Beyond customisation, FileMaker 11 also improves collaboration capabilities by offering Snapshot Link, which flags a specific set of records at a point in time, and Recurring Import, which allows users to establish and automatic import. And FileMaker Server 11 Advanced no longer limits the number of users that can simultaneously access the files over the network, but allows managers to assign access privileges to groups of users.
FileMaker 11 products are available immediately, with pricing varying between list price and upgrades, but more pricing and product information can be found here.
