FYI, this story is more than a year old

Ubisoft has further explained its two upcoming downloadable content packs for its recent blockbuster Assassin’s Creed II. Although the developer had already released the names and release dates of the DLC, little else was known about them until now.

Each DLC pack will fill in the missing memory segments from Desmond’s DNA that the game initially passed off as corrupted information. The first pack, Sequence 12: Battle of Forli, will be available from the end of January for US$3.99 (roughly NZ$5.50) on the PlayStation Network or approximately 320 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live. It features six new memories in which Ezio will assist Machiavelli and Caterina Sforza defend Forli from the Orsi brothers. Leonardo Da Vinci’s flying machine is also said to make a return in this episode.

The second pack, Bonfire of the Vanities, will be available from the end of February for US$4.99 (roughly NZ$7), or approximately 400 Microsoft Points, will unlock a new area of Florence previously unreachable by the player. Also introduced in this pack will be a new maneuver for Ezio called the ‘spring jump’. Ezio must assist Machiavelli in liberating Florence from the treachery of the mad monk Saconarola over the course of 10 new memories.

Each downloadable episode will require roughly 1GB of space on your console’s hard drive.
