In the second round, Black Ops scraped in by one vote, leaving its closest competitors tied for second place. But despite our indecision, it’s difficult to argue with the numbers. Not only is Call of Duty: Black Ops believed to have sold in the region of 18 million units since launch (at the time of writing), but it’s dominated the Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network online activity lists week after week. It seems that Treyarch managed the impossible to fine-tune the incredibly addictive multiplayer gameplay foundations set by Infinity Ward while throwing in some killer new features to boot.
