FYI, this story is more than a year old

God of War was heralded by many of the top video game websites as one of the best games ever to be released for the PS2. Little wonder then that gamers everywhere wait in anticipation for the return of Kratos in God of War II.

Keeping in mind that God of War was an action game that kept gamers enthralled from start to finish so the second instalment of the franchise has a lot to live up to. Can God of War II do its predecessor proud?

Kratos seems to have upstaged Ares and is now sitting on his throne on Olympus. The problem is Kratos has a taste for vengeance and in God of War II, we see Kratos doing what he does best – dealing out brutality and death wherever he goes.

The combat sequences once again, look totally on par with those of God of War. Brand new combat moves and magic will have you on the edge of your seat!

Familiar game play such as puzzle solving and exploration will keep you occupied for hours and there are many new beasts and characters from ancient Greek mythology to keep Kratos right where he needs to be – dealing damage and pwning like only he can.

A release date is yet to be confirmed but we’re tentatively picking a date in May for release in New Zealand.
