Warner Brothers Interactive have launched the download-only multiplayer FPS Gotham City Impostors, which allows players to take control of more than 20 unique characters inspired by Batman and The Joker.

In gameplay described in the press material as ‘deliriously fast-paced' and ‘completely unconventional', up to 12 players can battle at a time across five maps and in three different game modes – Team Deathmatch, Fumigation and Psych Warfare.

There's also a single-player mode that allows players to practice with the huge array of weapons and gadgets.

The game is currently only available via the Xbox Live marketplace, the Windows Live marketplace, and Steam, although it's coming to the PlayStation Network very soon.
