FYI, this story is more than a year old

Although we don’t yet have a confirmed date for the third release in the phenomenally successful Halo franchise, details of the game itself have been filling our inboxes lately. When Halo 3 releases there won’t be one but three different versions going to retail!

The three editions of the game will be standard, limited and legendary with legendary coming out in limited quantities so fans will have to get in fast. The packaging is something special too, with the legendary edition of the game arriving in a Spartan helmet case for serious collectors.

For $199.95 RRP you also receive two bonus disks filled with extra content, such as behind-the-scenes footage in HD quality of the ‘Making of Halo 3’ - a documentary that showcases the Bungie team at their absolute best creating Halo 3.

The standard edition of the game will retail at $99.95 and the limited edition which also comes in a snazzy metallic case will retail for $119.95.
