Halo: Reach beta to last 17 days
Thu, 29th Apr 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Bungie gives the dates and details on how long the highly-anticipated beta will last for. And it's not that long...

According to an update from developer Bungie Studios, the cut off point for the beta is currently May 19 US time (May 20 NZ time). Just in case you missed it, the beta is due to go live on May 4 NZ time.

Here’s the schedule of game modes that will initially be on offer:

  • May 4: Arena mode (Ranked 4 vs. 4 Team Slayer matches), plus Free-for-All and Grab Bag playlists
  • May 7: Spartan vs Elite ‘Invasion’ mode playlist
  • May 14: Generator Defense mode playlist

To get into the beta you’ll need the Halo 3: ODST Campaign Disc, a valid Xbox Live Gold account, a broadband connection (yes, some people do still need telling) and about 1.2GB of disk space.

For those on Silver XBL account, Microsoft will unlock all of Halo 3’s multiplayer from May 14 to May 17.

Check back later for a full guide to the beta.
