Hands-on with the V900 Laser Gaming Mouse
Tue, 14th Oct 2014
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The sleek V900 Laser Gaming Mouse from Rapoo is essential for all you PC gaming folk. Sure it looks like any old mouse, but it is very responsive and performs very well.

The V900 mouse came out in 2013 and is arguably one of the best looking mouses I have ever seen. There's something about its design that makes it look very high-tech. It's as if Rapoo were trying to design a mouse that looks like a fighter jet or a sports car. It just looks cool is all I am really saying.

Another cool thing about the V900 mouse is that it displays many different colours. It reminds me a lot of an Alienware laptop as the many colours it is able to display while you're using it looks very pretty. It's a great mouse to use if you want to play a game like Alien: Isolation in the dark.

Setting up the mouse to use for the very first time was a breeze. All I did was literally take it out of the box and plug it into my laptop. After a minute or two, I was able to use the mouse straight away for browsing the internet and do other things.

There is an installation disc however which will allow you to program the mouse to use it for more advanced functions. There are more buttons on this device than your average mouse which makes PC gaming more easier for you to do. You can assign the extra buttons to do whatever function you want depending on what type of game you are playing.

The mouse even has its own flash memory built-in that allows you to save up to three different button configurations. You can assign the buttons to play a FPS, flying and RTS game or something like that. A pretty cool feature that normal mouses obviously cannot do.

The mouse itself is very comfortable to use and didn't hurt my right hand after hours of use. Sometimes my hand aches when I'm on the computer for too long, but I didn't feel any pain when using the V900 mouse. It has a concave design that perfectly fits the size of my hand and fingers.

The only thing that might disappoint some people is that the V900 mouse is a wired device. The USB cable its attached to is pretty long and can get tangled up if you're not careful. Other than that, there weren't too many other problems I had with the mouse.

If you are a hardcore PC gamer, I would recommended the V900 mouse to you. Its comfortable, stylish and easy to use. It's perfect for those epic late night gaming sessions you might want to have during the weekend...

Verdict: 9.0/10
