Hands-on review: Rapoo VPro V910 - your competitive edge
Fri, 26th Aug 2016
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Rapoo's VPro 910 gaming mouse is far better than I imagined. Big, chunky, and glowing like a worm, this thing could be Rapoo's best attempt at an MMO gaming peripheral yet.

Connected by USB, the mouse is large, feels nice in the hand and its matte finish gives it good texture. While the box says adjustable weight but I didn't quite work out how this works. At 157.4 grams it's about average weight, given its chunky demeanour.

In terms of buttons, you can customise all eleven. Left, right, clickable scroll wheel, DPI adjuster + and – buttons along the top side, then you have your five gaming buttons (G1-G5) and trigger buttons along the side.

The 60MHz running frequency and accurate tracking to 12000 fps, while the DPI button can range from 100-8200. What does that mean? It just means that your mouse will be fast, and you can change your game's DPI with minimal fuss.

Like Rapoo's keyboards, the mouse comes with onboard memory, allowing “save and play” action. During my review process, I never really got a chance to test this one out.

Also on the box is a little statement about the mouse being designed for right-handed users, which as a leftie who uses a right-handed mouse, got me wondering about how lefties cope with it. No doubt most left-handed gamers have overcome the issue by now. If not, this mouse is worth the adaptation.

The laser sensor gave me a few issues in that it was very sensitive and going haywire across the screen on my mouse pad – I had to ditch my cheapo mousepad and use the wooden desk to get accurate traction. Once I did, it worked perfectly. Experiment, play around, have fun, make it work for you.

The backlight works with the V910 driver, one that is properly developed for the English-speaking market, so you're in luck. This driver is where you customise your buttons and make the most of it for your gaming experience.
