iPhone 5 release date June 5th?

According to a flurry of internet reports, all based around a leaked WWDC 2011 schedule, Apple will release iPhone 5 in early June.

Apple looks set to hold its Worldwide Developers Conference from June 5th to June 9th, according to the leaked schedule from the Moscone Centre, a favourite haunt of the event.

This date fits in nicely with the company’s form of announcing new iPhone models and then getting them in shops soon after.

A (button-less) iPhone 5 summer launch in the US has previously been rumoured.

Interestingly, a second booking at the Moscone Centre, under the same discrete name of ‘Corporate Booking’ has also been pencilled in for June 22nd and 23rd. This is now being tipped to be the time and place for the iPad 2 announcement, which we were expecting about now.

As is tradition, we won't know anything specific until Apple starts sending out invites to the events.

Update: In other news, the Wall Street Journal is reporting that iPad is now in production.
