FYI, this story is more than a year old

Along with announcing its new iPad this morning, Apple revealed that photography app iPhoto would now be available on iOS devices, as well as updated versions of iMovie and GarageBand.

Available for $6.49 from the app store, iPhoto for iOS allows users to tinker with photos using the devices' multi-touch gestures, as well as post photos to Facebook, Flickr and Twitter, beam them between iPhone and iPad, and add them to photo journals in iCloud.

GarageBand now features a Jam Session function that allows the user wirelessly connect their iOS device to those of up to three friends, thus allowing groups of musicians to play and record together.

As for iMovie, Apple has added Movie Trailers, which allows users to create trailers for their movies by choosing templates, selecting their shots, and arranging them in a storyboard. Both these apps are the same price as iPhoto.

GarageBand will run on all iPads, the iPhone 3GS or later, and the 3rd-generation iPod Touch or later. iPhoto and iMovie require a little more power, both running on iPad 2 or later and iPhone 4 or later. Click the links for more.
