Jetstar trials in-flight iPad entertainment
Wed, 2nd Jun 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Jetstar has said that it will trial iPads as in-flight entertainment from the end of June on selected domestic routes across Australia, before rolling it out across its entire domestic and international network later in the year.

Passengers can pay AU$10 to rent the iPad for the duration of the flight.

Jetstar Chief Executive Officer Bruce Buchanan said, "We are really excited to commence the trial of the iPads, as we're always looking for ways to enhance our customer's Jetstar experience. Given the demand for the iPad so far, I anticipate it will have strong appeal amongst our passengers.

"In addition to offering low fares, great customer service and more choice, it's important that we can provide the latest in innovative technology to entertain our customers on board," Mr Buchanan said.

"Based on demand for the iPads as part of the trial, we'll be looking to roll out the devices across our entire domestic and international network later in the year.”

Jetstar says it’s working with in-flight entertainment specialist Bluebox Avionics and Stellar Inflight to implement the trial.

How much would you pay to rent an iPad for a flight? Should the fee have anything to do with how long the flight is?
