Publishers Simon - Schuster have moved the release date of their Steve Jobs biography forward a month, in response to the iconic Apple founder's death yesterday.

The book, written by Walter Isaacson and titled simply Steve Jobs, will be released on October 24. Its previous publication date was November 21, which itself was an advance on the initial timeof early 2012.

A description on Amazon, where the book is available for pre-order, says it is based on a series of interviews with Jobs conducted over two years, plus interviews with family members, friends, colleagues and competitors.

"Although Jobs co-operated with this book, he asked for no control over what was written, nor even the right to read it before it was published,” the blurb reads.

"He put nothing off-limits.”
