Jobs’ death delays new Android phone

It hasn’t been officially announced, but Google and Samsung have postponed the release of their new Android smartphone, dubbed the Nexus Prime, or Galaxy Nexus.

According to a CNet report, the pair have delayed the launch due to the passing of Apple founder Steve Jobs last week.

The phone was widely rumoured to be due for release at this week’s Samsung Unpacked event.

No information has been given on when launch may now take place, or whether the postponement will affect the release of the latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, which was to accompany it.
