Kiwi app company Touchtech named fastest growing by Deloitte

Touchtech, the Wellington mobile app company, has been named the 131st fastest growing technology company in the Asia Pacific region by the Deloitte Fast 500 index.

This year, 51 New Zealand businesses were ranked in the index. This was more than South Korea, who had 47 companies named, and Japan, with 45 companies. China had 100 rankings and Australia had 74.

Following the announcement, Adrian Falvey, Touchtech, director, says, “We’ve had a phenomenally exciting year and it’s pretty cool to be recognised on this kind of scale.”

Touchtech is based in Wellington and is comprised of a group of 13. In the past 12 months, the team has released over 20 mobile and web apps.

Among Touchtech’s projects are Checkmate, the facial recognition check-in software; Goalpost, the social way to quit smoking; and Scene Stealer, the interactive app for NZ On Screen installations.

Touchtech was started by four programmers who embraced mobile and cloud development. Falvey says the team focuses on producing sophisticated, quality driven apps for users that are functional and intuitive. “I think it’s our commitment to value that has helped us grow sustainably,” says Fulvey.

For SMEs, the app company offers a two hour workshop with two Touchtech business analysts to develop an idea and turn it into a comprehensive business plan and a commercial product. Touchtech says the workshop will give a clear idea of cost, timeline and scope of the project.

Looking to the future, Touchtech is currently planning overseas expansion and will be at recruitment drive The New Zealand Jobs Expo with Grow Wellington in Sydney next week.
