Kogan takes on Apple with slim laptop range
Mon, 9th Jan 2017
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Kogan has released a new range of thin laptops, in a move the company says will compete with Apple's MacBook air due its slim measurements and budget pricing.

The Atlas UltraSlim series is Kogan's thinnest-ever laptop range, with the Atlas UltraSlim and the Atlas UltraSlim Pro both measuring 13.5mm at their thickest points.

“At the same time, Kogan is setting a new pricing benchmark for a fusion between features and design,” the company says in a statement.

The Kogan Atlas UltraSlim comes with a price point of $569, while the Kogan Atlas UltraSlim Pro comes in at $799. Both are available exclusively at Kogan.com.

Ruslan Kogan, founder and CEO of Kogan.com, says the company had conducted extensive research that showed customers wanted a laptop that was both well-priced and with a sleek and attractive design — but that no such options existed.

“We've done research, and customer feedback shows there's plenty of great laptops on the market — especially at price points well above $1000,” he says.

“However, there were no options for people who wanted a laptop that would get the job done, be attractive enough to be pulled out on the plane with pride, and still be affordable,” says Kogan.

“We think we've found the perfect balance between specs, design and price point with the Kogan Atlas UltraSlim,” he explains.

“It's a device that's perfectly suited to both a businessperson on the move, or a student returning back to school.

Kogan says the new Atlas UltraSim range continues the company's move to make the ‘most in-demand consumer products more affordable for everyone'.
