FYI, this story is more than a year old

In a live interview on CNBC, Terry McGraw, the CEO of US textbook company McGraw-Hill, has confirmed the tablet launch and says the device has an iPhone OS and is ‘terrific’.

In the CNBC video on MacRumors.com, the CEO confirms its existence and launch date and said that his company has been working with Apple for “quite some time”.

McGraw also said that the tablet will be based on the iPhone OS rather than the desktop OS and that the device will be able to access “a consortium of e-books”.

In the interview McGraw said that the company hopes that the tablet will open up the higher education and professional e-book market.
