Microsoft announces big things for Xbox One at E3 2015

Microsoft had an amazing E3 2015 earlier today announcing a lot of blockbuster things for the Xbox One console.

Arguably, the biggest reveal for the Xbox One is that it will be backwards compatible for several of your favourite Xbox 360 games. It will be supported natively so no extra hardware is needed.

You can also play your Xbox 360 games like you would for Xbox One games. You can use the screenshot feature and broadcast Xbox 360 games via the Xbox One console.

100 games will be compatible at launch, with more to come later. The update will come this Holiday.

2015 will also be one of the biggest years in Xbox history. Some of the Xbox One games coming your way include Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6 and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.

The big announcement for Halo 5: Guardians at E3 2015 is a new multiplayer mode. The game will have massive 24 player battles online. The new mode is called "Warzone" and looks like lots of fun.

Rise of the Tomb Raider finally got some gameplay footage and a release date. The game will be released on November 10th, 2015. The game is a timed exclusive for Xbox consoles.

Forza Motorsport 6 saw some gameplay footage as well at E3 2015. Exclusive to the game will be the all-new Ford GT supercar. The game itself has a release date of September 15th, 2015.

Finally, we have some exciting Gears of War news. Gears of War 4 was finally announced and will be released for the Xbox One in 2016. It will be deveolped by the newly named The Coaltion studio.

Before that game comes out, we have Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. The Xbox 360 games have been remastered for Xbox One in 1080p and includes new content and chapters. You will also get access to the Gears of War 4 beta by buying it. It will be released from August 25th, 2015.

There were also a ton of other games revealed that will be coming to the Xbox One platform in the future. Dark Souls 3 was revealed and will be out in 2016. EA also announced Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2. That game is also coming out in 2016.

It was an impressive showing for Microsoft at E3 2015 and the Xbox One console looks very strong in the near future.
