Microsoft denies Kinect-less Xbox One

Contrary to reports from the gaming world, Microsoft has been quick to quash any rumours that the Xbox one would be released as a bundle without the Kinect attachment.

Inside Gaming website initially claimed they had received conflicting reports from a close source saying consumers would be able to purchase two varieties of Xbox One bundles without the Kinect peripheral in 2014.

But in reaction to the rumours, Microsoft officially released the following statement:

“We have no plans to introduce an Xbox One without Kinect," it read. "We believe in Kinect and the value it brings to both games and entertainment, and believe (US) $499 is a great value for what consumers receive with their Xbox One.”

But before Microsoft could dispel the speculation, gamers began casting doubts over the company's claims that Kinect “is now an essential and integrated part of the (Xbox One) platform”.

The swift and official response should put to bed any further rumours that the console will be released without the added peripheral however.
