Mighty Ape to launch second-hand Marketplace

Local online retailer Mighty Ape has announced on its online blog the upcoming launch Mighty Ape Marketplace: a means of reselling second-hand goods purchased from Mighty Ape to other customers.

The initiative is seemingly an attempt by Mighty Ape to capture some of TradeMe's market. The blog even takes a subtle swipe at auction services such as TradeMe.

"Online auctions are great, but it takes a long time to create listings and even longer to organise payment and delivery," reads the blog. "We think we've come up with a better way, and we can't wait to show you..."

According to the blog, Mighty Ape Marketplace will be the "fastest and easiest way to list and sell the types of items you buy new from Mighty Ape."

Despite the announcement, Mighty Ape Marketplace is still weeks away from launch. It's not the only change afoot at Mighty Ape, which recently announced that it would no longer provide free shipping to orders in excess of $49.
