Namco Bandai Games to distribute The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in ANZ

Geralt of Rivia, AKA The Witcher will soon be making his 'next-gen' debut on Sony and Microsoft’s new consoles in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Developers CD Projekt RED have teamed up with NAMCO BANDAI Games to bring the latest game in the award-winning fantasy RPG series to Australia and New Zealand.

“We’re really excited to continue to develop our relationship with NAMCO BANDAI Games and, as a result, introduce The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to even more gamers across the globe. Thanks to our shared passion for games and our partner’s understanding of what core values constitute The Witcher series, I’m confident we can make the launch of The Witcher 3 something really special,” said Adam Badowski, Head of Studio, CD Projekt RED.

“CD Projekt RED is a world class developer that cares passionately about its games and its fans.  We are therefore delighted and proud to again be their chosen partner in Australia and New Zealand and we are very excited to add the eagerly awaited ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ to our 2014 line-up.’ said Gerard Noonan, SVP, NAMCO BANDAI Games Asia Pacific. “The Witcher series is one of the industries most revered video game franchises and with the power of the new generation of consoles we expect CD Projekt RED will take the series to even greater heights”

Based on Andrzej Sapkowski ‘s series of polish novels, The Witcher game franchise offers players the opportunity to take in and explore stunningly detailed medieval fantasy environments. The games are also renown for offering up a vicious challenge for those that dare crank up the difficulty.

CD Projekt RED has shown a tremendous level of dedication to their loyal fans. The steady stream of free updates for the PC version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings cumulated with a huge free patch, bringing the PC game in line with that of the enhanced version as released on the Xbox 360.

The Witcher 3 features over 100 hours of hand-crafted gameplay set across a vast and seamless open world.  As monster-hunter, Geralt of Rivia, players will be able to experience the largest Witcher game world yet; so huge it takes 40 minutes to travel end-to-end on horseback.

Veterans of the series can look forward to the expanded Sign casting and crafting systems. There’s also the new Witcher Senses, giving Geralt the ability to hear like a cat, see like an eagle and kill like an enraged wyvern.

Expect great things from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt later this year when it arrives on Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
