The TVNZ6 NetGuide Schools Multimedia Challenge is a way for students to learn more about topics from their curriculum, the world’s environment and their favourite sports while encouraging the use of the internet as a teaching tool.
The competition's main objective is to help students develop their ICT and multimedia design skills.
A massive $43,000 worth of prizes are up for the taking thanks to the backing of Toshiba, Adobe, Warehouse Stationery, Sony, ESET, Edifier, AVLabs, Resene, Random House and Hasbro.
There are three challenge categories for this year:
- The Web Challenge is open to primary, intermediate and secondary students.
- The Animation & Digital Video challenge is open to primary, intermediate and secondary students.
- The Video Game Design challenge is open to intermediate and secondary students only.
The theme for this year's website entry is “What we’ve learned’, while the Animation and Digital Video Challenge should be based upon “The Environment”. Best Video Game requires students to create a game based on their favourite sport.
The challenge runs from today through to September 30th with the presentation taking place on November 12th at the TVNZ studios in Auckland.
You can find registration details and a full listing of competition rules on the TVNZ6 NetGuide Schools Multimedia Challenge website.
